Current fuel prices and prediction
- The average price for regular unleaded fuel in Sydney is 182.1 cents per litre (Monday evening).
- Average regular unleaded prices rose 10.0 cents per litre last week, and are now expected to peak in the low 190s cents per litre in the coming week.
- The average diesel price in Sydney is 177.9 cents per litre.
- Regional prices: Last week average prices for regular unleaded fell 0.4 cents per litre and diesel fell 0.3 cents per litre.
World Crude Oil Prices
Over the previous week the average:
- Tapis crude fell $US 0.2 per barrel to $US 75.6 per barrel.
- Mogas (unleaded price benchmark) fell $US 1.0 per barrel to $US 85.4 per barrel.
- Gasoil (diesel price benchmark) fell $US 0.2 per barrel to $US 87.1 per barrel.
Sydney Wholesale Prices
Over the previous week the average:
- Regular unleaded fuel fell 0.8 cents per litre to 162.0 cents per litre.
- Diesel fuel fell 0.4 cents per litre to 162.7 cents per litre.
Sydney Diesel Prices
Sydney diesel prices rose 0.4 cents per litre this past week. Current average diesel price is 177.9 cents per litre.
Looking Ahead
Average regular unleaded prices rose 10.0 cents per litre last week, and are now expected to peak in the low 190s cents per litre in the coming week.
Average regular unleaded prices in Sydney should range between 165 cents per litre (at the low point of the current cycle) and 193 cents per litre (at the high point of the next cycle).
The average price ranges for E10, Premium 95 and Premium 98 should be as follows:
- E10 – a low point of 164 cents per litre and a high point of 192 cents per litre.
- Premium 95 – a low point of 181 cents per litre and a high point of 209 cents per litre.
- Premium 98 – a low point of 188 cents per litre and a high point of 216 cents per litre.
