Ram 1500 Dominates the Australian Pickup Market for the Seventh Consecutive Year banner

The Ram 1500 has once again proven its dominance in the Australian pickup market, securing its place as the top-selling US pickup truck for the seventh consecutive year. With 3,239 units sold in 2024, the Ram 1500 continues to be the vehicle of choice for Australians looking for power, capability, and style in a pickup.

Ram’s Success in Australia and New Zealand

In addition to the impressive sales of the Ram 1500, Ram Trucks Australia also sold 565 units of the Ram 2500, 47 units of the Ram 3500, and even one SLT Big Horn, bringing the total number of Ram vehicles sold in Australia in 2024 to 3,852. While Chevrolet came close, with 3,862 units sold (including 1,473 units of the Silverado HD and 2,389 units of the Silverado 1500), Ram still managed to finish ahead in the combined Australian and New Zealand markets by a slim margin of 13 units.

This achievement marks an important milestone for Ram Trucks, as the brand has now sold over 30,000 vehicles in Australia and New Zealand since it began local sales in 2016.

Transition to an Updated Model

As Ram Trucks celebrates another successful year, December 2024 also marks the end of an era for the iconic V8-powered Ram 1500. The final V8 models have been remanufactured, making way for an updated version of the 1500. Ram Trucks Australia is preparing for the release of a new model featuring a turbocharged six-cylinder petrol engine, set to arrive in showrooms by mid-2025. This shift represents a significant move for the brand, as it looks to meet changing consumer demands for more fuel-efficient options without compromising on power and performance.

Looking Ahead to 2025 and Beyond

The success of the Ram 1500, along with the planned updates to the vehicle lineup, suggests that Ram Trucks will continue to be a major player in the Australian pickup market. The upcoming release of the turbocharged six-cylinder Ram 1500 is expected to attract even more buyers, particularly those who want the rugged capabilities of the Ram but with improved fuel efficiency and performance.

With Ram Trucks now firmly established in Australia and New Zealand, the brand’s commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction is clear. As 2025 approaches, it will be exciting to see how the market responds to the new offerings, and whether Ram can maintain its stronghold as Australia's favourite US pickup truck.

For now, the Ram 1500 remains a symbol of strength, capability, and durability, continuing to capture the hearts of Aussie pickup enthusiasts year after year.
