Meet the 2025 Mahindra XUV 3XO: A Bold New Entry Under $30K
Big news for SUV shoppers – the all-new 2025 Mahindra XUV 3XO is on its way to Australia, and it’s set to shake up the city SUV segment with a sharp starting price under $30,000. Set to land mid-year, the 3XO made its local debut at the Melbourne Motor Show and will soon be available at Tynan Mahindra Kirrawee.
A Game-Changer for City Driving
The XUV 3XO is Mahindra’s stylish and practical answer to some of Australia’s most popular city SUVs – including the Mazda CX-3, Hyundai Venue, and Toyota Yaris Cross. But it’s also looking to go head-to-head with strong-value rivals like the Chery Omoda 5, GWM Haval Jolion, and MG ZS, all while undercutting them on price and matching them on tech.
Compact Size, Surprising Space
Built on a unique platform developed to suit Indian tax rules, the 3XO measures under 4 metres long (just 3995mm), but with a stretched 2600mm wheelbase, it maximises cabin space and driving stability. Expect clever packaging and impressive interior room, including a 364-litre boot – that’s 100L more than the Mazda CX-3.
Sleek Style & Smart Features
While Australian specs are yet to be confirmed, the high-grade overseas ‘AX7’ variant shown at the Melbourne Motor Show came packed with standout features:
- LED signature headlights and taillights
- 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels
- Dual-tone roof paint options
- Leatherette seat trim and panoramic ‘Skyroof’ sunroof
- Dual-zone climate control with rear vents
- Wireless phone charging
- Twin 10.25-inch displays for infotainment and the digital instrument cluster
Turbocharged Performance
The 3XO will offer two versions of a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine – an 82kW/200Nm base tune and a more powerful 96kW/230Nm variant. While both manual and automatic transmissions are available overseas, Australian models are expected to arrive with automatic only.
Advanced Safety Tech
The XUV 3XO won’t just look good – it’ll be smart too. Driver assistance features expected in Australian versions include:
- Autonomous Emergency Braking with cyclist, pedestrian and vehicle detection
- Traffic Sign Recognition
- Adaptive Cruise Control
