As the Easter and ANZAC Day long weekends approach, Tynan Motors is reminding drivers across Australia—especially in New South Wales, Western Australia, and the ACT—to stay safe and alert on the roads. Why? Because double demerits are back.

Whether you’re heading out for a family getaway or cruising to your local beach, it’s essential to understand when these penalties apply—and how to avoid them.

    🕛 Key Double Demerit Dates

Double demerits are in place across two key periods:

    • Easter Long Weekend 📅 From 12:01am Thursday, April 17 ⏱ To 11:59pm Monday, April 21
    • ANZAC Day Long Weekend 📅 From 12:01am Thursday, April 24 ⏱ To 11:59pm Sunday, April 27

That’s a total of nine days where traffic offences could cost you twice the usual demerit points, making it much easier to lose your license.
