Chery's Bold Moves for 2024: Tiggo 8 Pro Max, Omoda E5, and Beyond!
Get ready, Australia, because Tynan Chery Wollongong is about to make some waves! With the success of its Omoda 5 crossover and Tiggo 7 SUV, Chery is gearing up for a significant expansion in 2024, and Tynan Chery Wollongong is at the forefront of this exciting journey.
In 2023, despite having just two models available, Chery managed to surpass expectations with 5890 sales. But this is just the beginning. With a full year of sales ahead and some exciting new additions to the lineup, the numbers are set to soar even higher.
Leading the charge is the eagerly anticipated Tiggo 8 Pro Max, Chery's first seven-seat model. This spacious SUV, set to hit showrooms in April, promises to compete with the likes of the Mitsubishi Outlander and Honda CR-V, offering families a compelling option in the medium SUV segment.
Powered by a robust 180kW/375Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, the Tiggo 8 Pro Max will be available in three grades: Urban, Elite, and the range-topping all-wheel-drive Ultimate. Pricing and specifications will be announced closer to launch, but one thing's for sure – this SUV means business.
But the excitement doesn't stop there. Tynan Chery Wollongong is also gearing up to introduce its first full electric vehicle, the Omoda E5, around mid-year. With a 61kWh battery, front-wheel drive, and a single motor, the Omoda E5 boasts a claimed driving range of about 450km, putting it in direct competition with other electric offerings in the market.
Looking ahead, Tynan Chery Wollongong's lineup will be growing even further. While details remain under wraps, Managing Director Lucas Harris hinted at the possibility of introducing additional SUVs and even a sedan, such as the Arizzo 8, to Australian showrooms.
So, watch out – Tynan Chery Wollongong is ready to shake up the Australian automotive market in 2024 and beyond!
