The highly anticipated cab-chassis and manual-transmission versions of the 2025 Mitsubishi Triton have been leaked ahead of their official arrival in Australian showrooms. According to an industry database, these additions will expand the Triton range with six new variants, offering more choice for ute buyers.

    A Broader Triton Line-up

Following the successful launch of the dual-cab pick-up range, Mitsubishi is set to introduce cab-chassis options for the GLX+, GLS, and GSR trims. This is the first time factory-built cab-chassis versions of the top-spec GLS and GSR models will be available, adding versatility for business and fleet buyers.

Mitsubishi is also delivering on its promise of a manual transmission option, distinguishing the Triton from automatic-only rivals like the Ford Ranger, Volkswagen Amarok, and Mazda BT-50. This means that customers looking for a rugged, work-ready ute with a manual gearbox will have a new contender in the market.

Updated Pricing for the 2025 Mitsubishi Triton

The leaked pricing list reveals a starting price of $43,690 for the GLX 4x2 automatic dual-cab pick-up, while the newly introduced GLX 4x4 manual cab-chassis starts at $47,240. The range now includes:

    • Triton GLX 4x2 automatic dual-cab pick-up – $43,690
    • Triton GLX 4x4 manual dual-cab cab-chassis (new) – $47,240
    • Triton GLX 4x4 automatic dual-cab cab-chassis (new) – $49,490
    • Triton GLS 4x4 automatic dual-cab cab-chassis (new) – $57,540
    • Triton GSR 4x4 automatic dual-cab cab-chassis (new) – $61,540

    (All prices exclude on-road costs.)

The sub-one-tonne editions of the GLS and GSR dual-cab pick-ups, released in mid-2024 for novated lease customers, are also part of the expanded lineup. Additionally, the GSR Special Edition, featuring unique styling and a $500 price reduction, was introduced in February 2025.

What to Expect from the New Variants

All Triton models are powered by a 150kW/470Nm 2.4-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder diesel engine, paired with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. However, cab-chassis models will miss out on features like a 360-degree camera, rear parking sensors, and reverse AEB.

It remains unclear whether Mitsubishi will launch single-cab cab-chassis models simultaneously with these new variants, as they were not listed in the pricing details.

    Mitsubishi Triton Sales in 2025

So far in 2025, 2,643 units of the Mitsubishi Triton have been delivered across Australia. While it trails behind competitors like the Ford Ranger (8,357) and Toyota HiLux (6,918), it remains ahead of models like the Mazda BT-50 (2,591) and Nissan Navara (1,524).
