Mitsubishi has unveiled updates for the non-hybrid Outlander, following the facelifted Outlander PHEV revealed in late 2024. With Australian arrivals expected between July and September, Tynan Mitsubishi Kirrawee in Sydney is gearing up to showcase the refreshed Outlander lineup.

What's New for the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander?

The 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander, available in five- and seven-seat configurations, receives a host of upgrades that bring it in line with its PHEV sibling. Key changes include:

Interior Enhancements

  • A larger 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, replacing the previous 8- and 9-inch displays.
  • An available Yamaha Dynamic Sound 12-speaker audio system for enhanced in-car entertainment.
  • Ventilated front seats for improved comfort.
  • Revised centre console layout with more functional cupholders, a redesigned wireless phone charger, and a larger armrest with additional storage.
  • More USB-C ports, replacing the older USB-A connections.

Exterior Design Tweaks

  • New front and rear bumpers with a fresh grille pattern.
  • Clear tail-light elements for a modern touch.
  • New 20-inch alloy wheel design.
  • Moonstone Grey exterior paint joins the colour palette.

Refined Driving Experience

  • More sound-deadening material for a six-decibel reduction in road noise.
  • Flagship variants introduce luxurious brown quilted leather upholstery, replacing the previous black-and-tan interior.

Performance & Safety Updates

The 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander retains its reliable 2.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, producing 135kW and 244Nm, paired with a CVT automatic transmission. While no changes to safety features have been announced for petrol models, the European Outlander PHEV now includes a driver-monitoring camera for enhanced road safety.

For those interested in the Outlander PHEV, the latest version boasts a larger 22.7kWh battery (up from 20kWh), extending its electric-only range to 86km (WLTP standard). The hybrid system remains unchanged, with a 2.4-litre petrol engine and dual electric motors providing a balance of efficiency and power.

Mitsubishi's Best-Selling SUV in Australia

The Outlander has firmly established itself as Mitsubishi’s best-selling model in Australia, with 27,613 units sold in 2024—ranking it as the second-most popular SUV nationwide, just behind the Toyota RAV4.

With the 2025 Outlander set to hit Australian dealerships between July and September, Mitsubishi fans in Sydney can visit Tynan Mitsubishi Kirrawee to explore the latest features and take it for a test drive. Stay tuned for official pricing and specifications closer to launch!
