2025 Mahindra XUV 3XO: Affordable Small SUV Coming to Australia

The highly anticipated 2025 Mahindra XUV 3XO is set to make waves in the Australian small SUV market, offering an affordable alternative to established rivals like the Mazda CX-30 and Kia Seltos. Originally revealed late last year, the XUV 3XO is an extensively updated version of the XUV 300, which is currently sold in India. The model shares its foundations with the SsangYong Tivoli, a vehicle that was once part of Mahindra’s portfolio before SsangYong was acquired by KG Group in 2022.

Mahindra offers the XUV 3XO with three powertrains overseas:

• 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol: 82kW/200Nm
• 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol: 96kW/230Nm
• 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel: 86kW/300Nm

All engines are paired with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission and send power exclusively to the front wheels.

With a length of 3995mm, width of 1821mm, and a wheelbase of 2600mm, the XUV 3XO is positioned against popular models like the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Kona, Mazda CX-30, and Toyota Corolla Cross.

It’s expected to compete directly with Chinese small SUVs like the Chery Omoda 5 ($27,990 drive-away), GWM Haval Jolion ($26,990), and MG ZS ($26,990)—offering buyers a budget-friendly alternative from a non-Chinese brand.
